Ci siamo resi conto di aver parlato poco di quello che è uno dei marchi leader al mondo nel settore delle scarpe sportive, e tanta strada ha fatto da quando Rihachi Mizuno ha aperto un piccolo negozio in quel di Osaka, nel lontano 1906.
Ma avremo altre occasioni di raccontare questa storia: ora è meglio fare un salto di novant’anni, e parliamo di queste splendide running quintessenzialmente nineties, di produzione cinese.
Nel 1994 Mizuno si stava preparando a conquistare il mercato del running performance, che oggi domina insieme a pochi altri brand. Ed ecco un tassello importante di quell’avanzata: le Mondo Control contenevano già tutti gli accorgimenti tecnici necessari a un paio di running performance di alto livello, dai materiali al tipo di suola al sistema ISIF che migliorava il comfort dell’allacciatura. Studiate per atleti dalla corporatura pesante, sono amate anche dai pesi leggeri…
Chi le trovasse in giro, può acquistarle senza patemi d’animo: sono ancora perfettamente utilizzabili, anche per la corsa. Quotazione intorno ai 200 euro, ma con un po’ di fortuna si riescono anche a strappare prezzi migliori.

We have to admit we haven’t been talking enough about what is by now one of the world leading brands in the sector of sport shoes, and which made so much fortune since the late Rihachi Mizuno opened up a small shop in Osaka back in 1906.
But we promise we’ll have other opportunities to fill the gap: now we’d better skip some 90 years and talk about these wonderful and typically Nineties running shoes, a Chinese product.
In 1994 Mizuno was ready to conquer the market of performance running, which is today dominated by the brand, together with few others. And here is a crucial step in that story: the Mondo Control’s already had all the technical devices that are requisite for a pair of high quality performance running – from the fabrics to the sole to the ISIF system which enhanced the comfort of the lacing system. Designed for heavy built athletes, they are much beloved by the lightweight too.
Whoever were to find a pair of them could buy it usefully: they are still perfectly ok for being utilized, even for running. Their quotes revolve around 200 euro, but with a bit of luck you’ll be able to fetch a better price.
