14 anni nella NBA, un pezzo di storia dei Chicago Bulls: ci sono sei titoli nel curriculum di Scottie Pippen, più anelli NBA di quanti se ne possano portare su una mano sola. In quegli anni i dirigenti di Chicago cercarono di costruire una squadra invincibile intorno al totem Jordan: Pippen fu tassello fondamentale di quel progetto sportivo. La pioggia di titoli iniziò nel 1991, appena un anno dopo il lancio di uno dei modelli Nike indissolubilmente legati a questa straordinaria ala piccola originaria dell’Arkansas (in effetti, anche al personaggio di Sidney Dean/Wesley Snipes in Chi non salta bianco è, ma questa è un altra storia): queste Nike Flight Lite sono una vera perla rara, raramente ne abbiamo viste in condizioni tanto buone. Vero, d’altra parte, che indossarle è altamente sconsigliato: i decenni hanno intaccato i materiali usati per la costruzione della tomaia. Però la soddisfazione per gli occhi è innegabile.

Back then the Chicago managers tried to build up an unbeatable team around the Jordan totem: Pippen was a fundamental part in that program. The shower of titles started in 1991, just a year after the launching of a model by Nike forever related to this extraordinary tiny wing from Arkansas (indeed also to the character Sidney Dean/Wesley Snipes in White Men Can’t Jump but this is another story). These Nike Flight Lite’s are like a rare gem, and very seldom we saw a pair in so good conditions. Of course using them might not be a good idea: decades have eaten into the materials used for the upper. Yet the eye’s satisfaction is granted.
