Il marchio californiano, fondato da Ken Block e Damon Way nel 1993, è ufficialmente maggiorenne: quest’anno ne fa 19, cifra che significa maturità e presenza consolidata sul mercato. Oggi come nei Novanta, sono molti i rappresentanti della scena skate – ma anche diversi musicisti hip-hop – a indossare fieramente DC Shoes. DC intanto ha allargato i suoi orizzonti all’interno dell’universo degli action sports: snowboard, surf, BMX (con il grande Dave Mirra), ma anche motocross e rally (Ken Block ha messo in piedi una squadra per correre nel World Rally Championship). Ma lo skate rimane il core business, e gli skater bacino d’utenza principale: ecco perché le scarpe da skate con il marchio DC Shoes sono sempre una garanzia. Soprattutto se sviluppate in stretta collaborazione con un pro come Chris Cole.
Le Cole Lite S sono sneakers splendide da vedere ed estremamente funzionali, grazie a un contenuto tecnologico di primo livello: tomaia in pelle scamosciata speciale Super Suede, costruzione Unilite per la massima leggerezza, linguetta e collare imbottiti. Inutile dire che il particolare capace di fare la differenza ai nostri occhi è la striscia “infrared” che occhieggia fra tomaia e intersuola.

Nowadays – just like during the Nineties – there are many figures within the skate scene (but also many hip-hop musicians) that are proud to wear DC Shoes. To begin with, DC extended its horizons to reach the universe of action sports: snowboard, surf, BMX (with the great Dave Mirra), but also motocross and rally (Ken Block has put in place a team to run the World Rally Championship). Though skateboard is the core business; and skaters are the main catchment area: which is why skate shoes with the logo DC Shoes are always reliable. Especially when they were realized in close relationship with a pro like Chris Cole. The Cole Lite S are marvelous sneakers to the eye, and above all extremely practical, thanks to their top level technology: a special suede leather upper called Super Suede, construction Unilite to secure lightness; tongue and collar are both padded. Needless to say, the detail capable of making a difference from our point of view is the stripe “infrared” peeping between upper and intersole.
