Forse erano un po’ troppo avanti sui tempi: negli Ottanta non ebbero molto successo, a causa della concorrenza degli altri brand che dominavano il settore lifestyle in quel periodo. Le Bermuda furono frutto di una reazione, da parte della casa tedesca, al successo di Vans, Sperry Top-Sider e Sebago. L’esperimento forse non andò a buon fine dal punto di vista commerciale, tuttavia per gli hardcore fan di adidas questo modello rimane un classico da aggiungere a qualsiasi collezione degna di questo nome.

The colors are so fashionable and modern that we would be ready to bet the Bermuda’s would be a terrific hit nowadays. Maybe they were a bit too innovative for those days: during the Eighties they weren’t very successful, due to the competition by other brands which ruled the lifestyle sector back then. The Bermuda’s sprang from a reaction by the German brand to the success enjoyed by Vans, Sperry Top-Sider and Sebago. The experiment may not have gone well from a commercial point of view, yet this model remains a classic that all and every hardcore fan should be eager to add to any collection worthy this name.
